Cameraman Tower Defense Guide

Update log and patch history

Quick answer

The Spider Update landed 10 October 2026: nine new units across three sources, gems and Quests, modifiers, a 99 Robux 2x speed pass and one-click replay. The X2 coin event runs on top of regular play.

Cameraman Tower Defense ships fast. The game went up on 26 August 2026 and by mid-October it had run through launch, a scientist-era economy, and one of the biggest patches of its life — the Spider Update. The in-game Update Log (top corner of the lobby) keeps the receipts; this page tracks what each drop changed.

The X2 event layer

The store tag currently reads [🏆UPD+X2💰], and every match HUD carries an X2 Event counter. That is the recurring double-coins window: normal games run, coins pay at 2x, and the tag on the game page is how you spot it before joining. Stack it with the 2x speed pass and a long match earns at a genuinely silly rate.

Before that: the cycle that built the game

  • August 26 — launch. The base game: toilets, cameramen, a golden statue, and the original unit pool.
  • September–October — the UPDATE chain. The codes tell the story better than any patch list: RELEASE, then UPDATE1, UPDATE2, UPDATE3, plus a BUGFIXES pass. Each named update shipped units and systems; the code was the announcement.
  • Early October — the Scientist era. Scientist crates and the Scientist-first opener became the standard play, and the rare Engineer entered circulation (333 copies existed at the October check).
  • October 10 — the Spider Update. Everything above.

How to keep up without playing

  1. The game page tag. [🏆UPD+…] means fresh content; the tag changes when the big stuff lands.
  2. The Update Log button. Top-left of the lobby, with a counter badge for unseen entries.
  3. The codes page. New patch, new code — we track both together on the codes page.

The next update will land the same way: a renamed tag, a new code, a log page, and a units page that needs re-reading. When it does, the numbers here move with it.
